    Do you need the cardboard insert, or can you attach the door straight onto the kallax? I have a kallax bottom square that is where all my electrical cords/surge protector sit for my printers in my office; they are threaded into it from the back. I want to hide the cords with a door. If I put the cardboard insert, then the back of the kallax is cut off, blocking me from threading the cords from behind into the square. Can the door still function and look nice without the cardboard insert?

    • @nukem384

      No, I just use that term because saying the "gas pedal" makes no sense on a car that doesn't consume gas. And accelerator takes too much effort for me to say lol.

    I have TOU C 4-9 peak pricing but I also have solar+ battery. We mostly take shower between 8-9 , how should I set up the schedule ? and can we change it to electric mode on 12:30 am because sometimes we take later shower and the compressor would still be running while I tried to sleep .

    • @nukem384
      @nukem384 2 дні тому

      I'm on the same TOU plan and we shower about the same time. The app kinda sucks in a way where it doesn't give you a ton of control to tell the WH when to turn on and off. So I have mine set to 140 from 1-4PM and then 120 the rest of the day. This way, you have nice hot water for peak time without using peak energy. And ours won't usually turn on again until the next day at the same time or sometimes in the morning, like 9am during the winter when it's colder. It's worked nice for us.

    Why do you need to color the white? Because there are two hots and the green is the neutral with no ground?

    • @nukem384
      @nukem384 4 дні тому

      You actually don't need the neutral if you're hard wiring. Just black/red for the hots and green for ground. The only reason the neutral is even there sometimes if people will wire these on a 50a breaker and use 6AWG romex. 6AWG romex is usually comes 6/3, so the white neutral is already inside the covering. You don't use it for this hard wire setup. Just let it be and cap it off on both sides.

      @bbooth1229 3 дні тому

      @@nukem384 So the black brings 120 and the red brings 120 and no neutral? How does the energy return? Sorry, I am still learning.

    • @nukem384
      @nukem384 3 дні тому

      @@bbooth1229 You're correct on the 120v/120v. Having 240v total, both the hots act as hots and return. Sorry, I'm not an electrician, so my explanation isn't going to be pro. The 2nd response explains a little better. teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/why-no-neutral-in-the-hpwc.239243/

      It is better to keep the charger plugged into the wallsocket. Repeated plugging and unplugging can create wear and tear on the socket. When the charger handle is not connected to the vehicle, the wall charger is not drawing power and is safe to just sit there on the wall, safely plugged into the socket.

    • @nukem384

      @@aliazizi7466 what the other poster said. I would highly recommend getting an industrial/commercial outlet. This will negate the plugging/unplugging concern. I fully agree on this point and had an experience to prove the point. Two years ago I bought my first EV and had a licensed electrician install a 240V NEMA 14-50. I really had no issues for about 18 months but then my EVSE started to intermittently shut down. The fault code on the EVSE indicated a high temperature-driven shut down. However, the EVSE itself is was just barely warm and the car itself was charging fine at any public, high speed charger. However, when I touched the outlet box (it is metal and is surface mounted on the garage interior wall) it was very hot. I shut down the power and opened the box. One of the two power legs was completely melted. It was so bad that I could not even unscrew that terminal, but had to cut it off instead. I bought the Hubbell for a little less than $60 on Amazon (August, 2024) and installed it. Everything has been cool ever since. One word about comparisons to dryers - Even if you use them a lot, they don’t pull nearly as much current as an EV. Dryers are highly variable depending on the model, but they almost always specify a 30 amp circuit, so with a 20% safety margin they are pulling 24 amps or less. A 9.6 KW EVSE, on the other hand, will pull 40 amps more or less continuously for 5-10 hours (or more, depending on battery size and charge level). It is a lot more current for a lot longer, and that is what ultimately cooks the cheaper outlets (mine was a Leviton). Hope that helps.

      It's just a box? That's why there's that mark you need to make in the front. Make the box and line it up to the line in the front that you make. That'll ensure that the box is pushed back as far as it should go. Good luck

    If you explained why you added a 2nd GFCI in series with the first, I missed it. Why not install a normal receptacle in the garage since it will be GFCI protected by the one upstream. Then you only need to reset in one place if the garage trips it and there will be less confusion when troubleshooting.

    • @nukem384
      @nukem384 10 днів тому

      Yeah I probably didn't explain. That was the initial setup, downstream regular outlet. But I just wanted a GFCI in the garage for extra extra safety since I use that outlet pretty often with my pressure washer. I know I know, not necessary, but just makes me feel better. I know the circuit, so it would just be resetting one extra GFCI (garage). No big deal for me.

    Nice video. Two comments from a long time user. If there's ANY hardness in the water (any scale on faucets in the house?), the bidet nozzles will clog over time. I'd advise anyone considering a bidet to consider this, as these units are expensive. Second, there's an activated charcoal fan filter in most Toto bidets that I've never seen mentioned in the manuals (I've owned 3). If the unit smells "funky," try replacing it. There are videos on UA-cam showing how to do it.

    Yeah not having a spare is not good. I didn’t know that before buying my model Y. No one told me and I didn’t think to ask about it.

      Eh, I honestly don't think it's a huge deal. I guess it just depends person to person.

    Now that you've had this chair for a few years, what do you think of it? Is it comfortable. Also, can you access the cushion (is there a zipper)? Thinking of a Poang chair, but this one seems "cheaper" than others that have more substantial cushions & especially better built w/ zipper access to help maintain the wearable parts. Just looking for your honest feedback. Thk u kindly.

      I actually really like this chair. We bought it for my wife to nurse our daughter when she was born, but it's still in her room and we sit on it while she plays in her room now. The way it's angled back actually makes it pretty comfortable IMO. The cushion is pretty thin, but not comfortable for me whenever I sit on it. But I haven't sat on it for any extended period of time, heads up. The cushion does seem to be washable just how it is. It doesn't have any zippers. Looks like you can just throw the whole thing in the washer.

    If you select the option disable resample in the project settings and in the videos in timeline you can get result without motion blur after rendering, i think it's not necessary to do anything else

    Definitely mobile charger cuz I got quotes from $2.7k-$5k for the Wall charger. My panel is in the basement. Q. When using the mobile connector, does the phone app needs to be open to charge?

    • @nukem384
      @nukem384 17 днів тому

      Nope. The mobile and wall connector works exactly the same from that aspect. Just plug in and the car will charge to whatever you've set it at inside the car. You can still control inside the app with the mobile if you want though.

  • @TheBQ92
    @TheBQ92 17 днів тому

    Does the mobile connector have its own GFCI built-in? I'd really prefer the 14-50 option just for the versatility of being able to use that plug for woodworking tools when not charging. But I live in an area where I must have a GFCI breaker for the NEMA 14-50 receptacle. All of the EVSEs I've looked into seem to have their own GFCI built-in, and apparently that can result in nuisance tripping of the breaker. Does the mobile connector not have this problem? My utility company has incentives for a Chargepoint EVSE and installation so those would be almost free, but I do need to sign a waiver acknowledging the risk of nuisance tripping. If the mobile connector sidesteps this problem, that'd be amazing.

    • @nukem384
      @nukem384 17 днів тому

      Unfortunately, I believe either the connector or charge port does have a GFCI. So the tripping you're reading about can be a problem with Tesla also. The real problem is the genius who decided making GFCI's code when all the EVSE's have built in GFCI's. So it's something you're going to have to deal with or hard wire an EVSE :(.

    I live in a condo and installed the Emporia EV charger on my sub panel. The main panel is located outside the garage so that wouldn't work. I used a 2 pole 50 amp single unit. I have the EV charger set to 50A charging. Its working great but I'm having issues with understanding how to incorporate the Emporia Vue generation 2. The only reason I wanted to install the vue is for the load management features. My goal is to only monitor the EV charger and air conditioner, so if both the AC and EV charging are running at night, the EV charger will decrease its power if it actually needs to. With the Vue, I connected the larger monitors to the 2 mains coming into the sub panel, and then connected 2 small monitors to the EV charger labeled 1 and 2, 2 small monitors for the AC labeled 3 and 4, and one small monitor for the AC fan/compressor 5. The issue I'm having is, the percentages seem off to me in the app. It says the main is 100% and when I run the AC, it averages around 80%, and when I run the EV charger it's at roughly 90%. Combined that's obvisouly over 100%. I feel like I didn't set up the app settings correctly, or I'm misunderstanding the usage or each monitor. For the record, while running the AC and EV simultaneously, nothing has overloaded and the EV will charge at full power. Do I even need the Vue if nothing has overloaded yet? Wouldn't something have kicked off if it couldn't manage the load?

    • @nukem384
      @nukem384 18 днів тому

      This is probably something you should ask Emporia about. Their CS is pretty good, so I'm sure they could probably help you. But yeah, possible something isn't setup right or settings just need to be adjusted.
